Meet Our Dentist
Julie E. A. Steinmetz, D.D.S., M.S.D.
Diplomate and Board Certified, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Julie (Dickerson) Steinmetz was born in Columbus and grew up in Commiskey, Indiana. While in elementary and middle schools in North Vernon, she was a competitive gymnast who trained at Madison Gymnastics World. She then attended Jennings County High School, where she participated in tennis, swimming, and diving and graduated in the top of her class. She later received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis.
After graduation, Dr. Steinmetz worked as a chemist at Schwarz Pharma in Seymour for one year. She then worked as a quality control representative at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 2004, Dr. Steinmetz began dental school and graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2008. To pursue her dream of working with children, she continued her studies for two additional years at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. She received her Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and her Master’s Degree in Pediatric Dentistry from Indiana University School of Dentistry. During her residency, she was honored with the Arthur Klein Research Award and the G. R. Baker Fellowship Award.
Dr. Steinmetz currently lives in Columbus, Indiana with her husband, Matthew, her two children Samuel and Josephine, and their three dogs. She enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
